Submission rules
The Heart of Long Beach Film Contest and Exhibition’s mission is to give local filmmakers the publicity they deserve. Long beach is commonly portrayed as another city or another place but this city deserves to be represented as what it truly is. The submissions accepted into the film contest will be arranged into an anthology-style feature length film to be submitted to film festivals around the United States. This way, independent filmmakers and Long Beach can become a part of a bigger picture: The Heart of Long Beach.
Contest Requirements:
-Submissions will be accepted from .... TBA
-Top selections will be made by Summer 2021
-Final films will be screened for a showcase in Long Beach on a date to be determined
-Submissions must be between 3-12 minutes in length
-Films must be in HD (1080p) or higher quality
-No film shall exceed the rated – “R” level as determined by the contest committee
-Non-English films must have English subtitles
Selection:
-The contest committee shall choose 10-15 of the submissions to be screened at the Heart of Long Beach screening ceremony
Post-Selection:
-The chosen submissions will be combined into a feature length anthology-type film which will be submitted to various film festivals throughout the United States under the title “The Heart of Long Beach”
- Films will not be edited by the production team, only additional post production work may apply (color correction, color grading and/or sound mixing), to improve the overall quality
*In the final “Heart of Long Beach” anthology all of the cast and crew will receive credits for their role in their respective submissions
*The creators of each individual submission will be eligible for any kind of profit-sharing that the final anthology film may garner
